On Air: Toy Association Member Toys Offer Fun Ideas for Hosting Backyard Olympics
July 26, 2021 | The Summer Olympics are underway in Tokyo, and The Toy Association’s trends team joined TV stations across major U.S. markets to encourage families to share in the festivities by using toys and games to host their own backyard games.
Highlighting member companies’ playthings, The Toy Association appeared in segments in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Sacramento both virtually and in person.
“The Olympics has always been a fun global event the whole family can tune in and watch together, and with these toys families can reimagine the Olympic games for their own backyard competitions,” said Adrienne Appell, senior vice president of marketing communications. “From sports toys based on the brand-new Olympic events like skateboarding to competitive backyard games, there are so many playthings to get up and active. Be on the lookout for even more Backyard Olympics segments airing across the U.S. in the weeks ahead!”
Segments can be found on The Toy Association website and member products featured can be found in a new dedicated “As Seen on TV” section of The Genius of Play website.
